Laura is a senior studying Industrial and Operations Engineering. Prior to joining her sophomore year, she never anticipated being so excited about concrete. Outside of MCCT, Laura is also involved in Central Student Government and IM Sports. As captain, she is eager to see what innovation and progress this hard working team can accomplish this year.
Eric is from Farmington Hills, Michigan and is a Junior studying Chemical Engineering with a Minor in Computer Science. In his role as the 2016-2017 Mix Design Lead he plans to strengthen the concrete mix while also strengthening the team. This is his third year on the team and last year he held the position of Paddling Lead. Outside of Concrete Canoe, Eric enjoys playing IM sports, hanging out with his friends, and watching Michigan Football.
Jason is a sophomore studying Industrial Engineering. Jason joined the team his freshman year and is excited to lead the hull design team. In his free time he enjoys basketball, ultimate frisbee, and other sports.
Olivia is a Junior studying Ecology & Evolutionary Biology. This is her third year on the team. She is also a captain for Dance Marathon, and loves plants, music and Netflix.
Mackenzie Horton is a junior studying Chemical Engineering. This is her third year on the team. She loves music and taking fun trips with her family. She is also involved in the Society of Women Engineers. Good luck this year team!
Mehul hails from the distant town of Saline, MI. He is a Junior majoring in civil engineering and minoring in business. He enjoys playing the violin, dancing, and watching excessive amounts of the Food Network. He is excited for his third year on the Concrete Canoe Team and is excited to continue being a part of a close knit group of hard working students.
Construction and Aesthetics
Ashlynn is a junior from Waldorf, Maryland majoring in Materials Science Engineering with a minor in Multidisciplinary Design and a specialized study in Sustainability Engineering. She enjoys playing the viola, watching inordinate amounts of Netflix, and petting dogs whenever an opportunity presents itself. She is very excited to be a lead on the Concrete Canoe team this year and build some amazing stands for competition.

Hannah is a junior studying Civil and Environmental Engineering. She is from Middleville, MI and this is her second year on MCCT. Her love of water and everything pertaining to it inspired her to join this team and she is especially excited to race. At Michigan she is also involved in BLUElab, Aquaponics, Dance Marathon and the swimming and triathlon club teams.
Elizabeth is a junior in Mechanical Engineering. She is from West Bloomfield, Michigan and joined due to her interest in making structures stronger. This is her first year on MCCT and is extremely excited to get some hands on experience and be apart of such a great team.
Paddle Practice Lead
Michael is a junior from Saline, MI. He is studying Industrial and Operations Engineering. This is his third year on the Concrete Canoe team. He enjoys playing IM sports, volunteering weekly at CS Mott Children’s Hospital, and going to the Michigan basketball and football games.
Payton is a senior majoring in Civil Engineering. She is from Grand Ledge, Michigan and joined the team this year. She is excited to learn more about the process of designing the canoe. In her free time she enjoys attending sporting events, spending time with her family, and going on adventures with friends.
Stacey is a senior from Pinckney, MI and is studying Civil Engineering. She joined MCCT this year and is excited to be apart of a smaller design team. Stacey is also involved in the Society of Women Engineers and Bridges to Prosperity. She enjoys attending as many U of M sporting events as she can (especially hockey), relaxing with friends, hunting and fishing with her family, and playing different sports.
Julie is a senior studying Mechanical Engineering from NYC. She joined MCCT freshman year in hopes of learning how concrete can float, and served as Paddling Practice Lead sophomore year. Outside of concrete canoe, Julie is involved with Miscellania, FASA, and EnginFirst.
Enjoys the small team aspect of the group, being able to be part of every aspect. Aspiring aerospace engineer with graduation expected in 2018. From all over, but MI is definitely one of the best places other than maybe Italy or Portugal where he lived for a while. Enjoys listening to music, reading, cooking, and traveling. Especially traveling.
Allison is a junior from Bay City, Michigan. This is her second year on the team. She enjoys going to U of M hockey games, swimming, playing water polo, and doing almost anything outside.
Adrian is a sophomore studying Computer Science from East Lansing, MI. This is his second year on MCCT. He joined freshman year because of his love for canoeing. Last year he was one of the members of the paddling team. He enjoys going to football games as well as playing ultimate frisbee.
Gary is a sophomore from Queens, NY. He is studying Mechanical Engineering and Computer Science. He joined the team this year because he loves the water and enjoys working on a close-knit, friendly team. In his spare time, he likes playing baseball, soccer, and adventuring with his friends. He is excited for a great year with the team.
I am a sophomore in the College of Engineering planning on dual majoring in Civil and Environmental Engineering. My favorite activities include long walks on the beach, cooking, and winning Concrete Canoe competitions.
Jessica is currently a sophomore studying at the University of Michigan's College of Engineering. With an interest in saving the Earth, she aspires to become an environmental engineer. During school, she occupies herself with Photonix, BLUElab, and of course, Concrete Canoe. In her free time however, she loves browsing the latest fashion trends, playing board games, and tasting new foods.
Tim is a sophomore in mechanical engineering. He joined concrete canoe this year and has a lot of hope for the rest of this year. His interests include listening to music, baking, and walking.
Noah is a freshman studying Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering from Arlington, Texas. Noah joined the team as a freshman and is excited to be a part of the hull design team. In his free time, Noah enjoys reading, research, and working.
I’m a freshman from Addison, Michigan. Im am studying civil engineering, and IM sports are the only other activities I do.
I am a freshman studying biomedical engineering, and I am also a part of MHeal. I am helping with hull design and look forward to competing with my teammates.
